I loved that dual engine bike. I was just a kid working at Laidlaw’s and I remember asking Joe when he was going to build a dual engine bike. He said no way. A friend of my Dad's had built the frame for Boris Murray’s twin triumph. I remember trying to sketch out what it would look like. I was drafted into the army and I remember seeing Joe's new dual engine Harley on the cover of a magazine. It was almost as if I imagined even if my sketches didn't do it justice. I was so happy he built it. I still have the magazine today. Joe was great guy. He had a lot of suggestions on what do with my ’80 “ Stroker Sportster, lengthening and raking the frame, cutting down the tires to make sure they were round. I had some nasty speed wobbles before that. I used to race that thing down Garvey and Joe would tell me that was far more dangerous than what he did on the drag strip, especially when not wearing helmets. Fortunately I’m still here to talk about it. One other thing, I purchased Joe’s open motorcycle trailer that he sold to scotty. I had that thing until just a few years ago. There was just something about having the trailer that carried the world’s fastest and quickest drag bike. This was the previous single engine bike as the trailer was too short for the dual engine one. Definitely ‘Back in the Day’.

Thanks…
